Reviving Ballroom in Public Schools

A recent article in the Sunday Seattle Times expressed it so well.

Carmen & Dale's Strictly Ballroom

offers several programs for the greater Benton County and it's surrounding areas and school districts.

Programs are 4-week, 6-week and 10-weeks long. Before and after-school programs are available, and depending on dates there are also times slots available during school hours.

The social graces and etiquette of being ladies and gentlemen are easily blended into ballroom dance.  In this way they are introduced to a new way of communicating via dance in a respectful and positive way.

 
 
 

At the end of the 6 or 10 week program the school host a Cinderella Ball where students get to show off their new skill and have the opportunity to dress up. Parents are encouraged to participate in both the dance lessons and ball. If desired a prearranged potluck provided by the parents may precede the ball. This then can become a real family affair. The students can dance with and for their parents, and friends, showing off their new skills while impressing their peers.

Regardless of peer or social standing, a good dancer is always popular. This is an excellent opportunity for all to excel on equal footing.

  • By helping all ages to keep a fit and healthy heart and bringing ballroom classes to Fitness Spas and recreation centers.

Wow- That was truly amazing! I can't imagine how that hour of time could have been improved in any way - it was fabulous! I am in awe of how quickly you stepped up to the task and accepted our request on such short notice- I didn't think it was possible but you miraculously pulled it off gracefully and professionally! You have such a great ability to teach in a quick, organized yet fun way. I heard many of the kids saying how much fun they had and that they didn't think it was possible to learn ballroom. I also heard some of the girls say how impressed they were with how quickly the guys learned how to take charge and lead....             When I dance….
  • my universe is balance
  • I am expressing my passion
  • the problems of life disappear
  • I am in sync, emotionally, spiritually and physically
  • I am ONE with my partner, my husband
  • my childhood dreams are fulfilled
  • I envision my Creator in the audience
  • I am thankful for the “gifts” God has bestowed on me
  • I feel beautiful
  • my heart soars like an eagle
  • my mind is clear and my senses are alert to detail
  • I feel light as a feather and graceful as a swan
  • I am energized by the sound of the music the room   fades away and I am allowed to really be me
  • I see myself at age 5 dreaming of this day... TODAY
 
  • I remember all of my mother’s sacrifices for without them I would be crippled in a wheel chair today
